An AI School, With No Teachers, To Open in Chicago This Fall – Block Club Chicago

At Chicago Public Schools, teachers can use AI in the classroom as long as it follows the district’s guidebook, which allows AI’s use as a supplemental classroom resource to personalize lessons and support student work — but not as the primary mode of education.

So no teachers but instead they will hire “guides”. Where will they get those guides? What type of background does one need to be a guide? How much will they pay? Won’t disagree that education will evolve from how things are done today. I just don’t think calling a teacher a “guide” is a grand move forward. Starting salary at 100k per year. People here act like that’s some outrageous amount of money so I don’t think they will like such a high starting salary. I think it’s great that AI is being used but it won’t be a magic bullet to help a bunch of students that don’t show up regularly nor do they value education.

Don’t agree, but at least AI shows up to teach and doesn’t call off.
