An Illinois governor-backed bill to restrict school cell phone use gains momentum – Chalkbeat Chicago

The proposal has gotten a lukewarm reception by the Illinois Federation of Teachers. Though they are not actively opposing the bill, union leaders have raised concerns about the possible cost and logistics of implementing the restrictions.

Seriously??? You could outfit every classroom with a clear hanging pocket organizer for less than $10 retail. Imagine the discount you could get buying the quantities needed for CPS. Why is it that other school districts have implemented this, but CPS & its union always have an excuse?
