Appeals court: Chicago can sue out-of-state gun shop over gun crimes in the city – Cook County Record

"The City has sufficiently alleged that over many years, Westforth deliberately and purposely availed itself of the Illinois market, fully aware that the firearms would contribute to criminal activity in Chicago," the appeals court said in its decision.

Lightfoot and her ilk are masters at shifting the blame from the folks in the community actually committing crimes onto someone else. Getting your car stolen by “ funnin “ youths? Sue the car maker. Getting your food truck robbed? Don’t do business in cash. Stores being ransacked by “ not baby Capones “? Put up barriers and hire security at your own cost. Refusal by her and others to admit that the vast majority of crime being committed in CHI/ Cook County is by uneducated, unemployable and uneducated Black people is her legacy. She’s a politician in a city that’s 1/3rd black in a county that nearly 1/4th black. This is what the community wants to hear. On the other hand, if it is true that 40% of gun trafficking cases in Northern Illinois come from a single gun shop in Gary, IN, and they knowingly sold guns to straw buyers who illegally trafficked guns to Chicago…that’s a problem.
