The subject of the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce hearing, titled “Breaking Trust: Attacks on Parental Rights, Inappropriate Content, and Legal Abuses in America’s Schools,” is broad, meaning the superintendents could be asked about almost anything.
What they got instead was the usual deflections and non-answers typical of leftists at these hearings.

“As CPS chief leaves for D.C. hearing, backers hope for strong defense of policies for trans, Black students”….not so much about teaching kids how to read or do math.

Maybe she needs to stand up for all CPS students, not just minority students and members of identity members.

This is an exercise in wasting time. In Chicago, education is free, many schools offer free food. The only requirement is to attend. How difficult is that to comprehend? Sadly, absenteeism among Black students is at 45%. A lack of true, honest Black leadership is missing locally and nationally. If Dr Martin Luther King were still here and commanded Black youth to faithfully attend school, they would! Education is the only way Black can compete with white.

Trump Administration’s problems with Gender activities and policies and programs specifically for Black and Brown students is simple. School districts need to teach children how to read, write and add and subtract, along with some history and government education. Education needs to stay out of developing programs and spending tax dollars on helping students examine their gender and discussing how best to proceed. Parents need to be in-charge of their children – NOT School Districts. Also, Education can have some programs for students to enhance learning…but to only have specific programs for Black and or course Brown students isn’t fair… Read more »
As CTU is sending a bus of “supporters” to DC to “stand” with her, I suspect that the agreed stance is that “CTU is a wonderful partner working toward the educational attainment of all students, and the quality of life for parents and the elderly and disabled who live within the district.” Results? Not so much.

BTW – King had to be sent a subpoena to appear. Useless.
I really hope they get some questions in about the CTU. And I hope she spills her guts
