Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints
Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.
“They say it’s a way to let people know why they aren’t seeing the tax increase.”
Nonsense! Gas receipts don’t, but should, breakdown the purchase by product cost and various taxes, just like normal retail receipts.
In that receipts aren’t itemized, a two-to-three cent increase doesn’t impact a $4.50/gallon purchase much at all (that’s approximately 0.005% increase) and wouldn’t be noticed.
Requiring signage is more government overreach at the gas pump.
Enough already!
100 gallons of gas equals a $2.30 cent savings, not even enough to buy another gallon. Thanks JB, you’re the man.
First, this blatant attempt by Democrats to control the narrative around high gas prices indicates how worried they are about the upcoming elections. Second, this is incredibly insulting to the voters, as the Democrats are essentially calling them stupid. Sadly, I doubt it will matter much, as the voters were stupid enough to elect these clowns in the first place.
No need to call the voters who continue to elect democrats over and over again stupid because they are stupid.
They’re worse than stupid, they are hateful too. They won’t vote Republican because believe that Republicans are racist and they despise anyone who identifies as Republican. It’s a doublewhammy of bad people. I’ve always said the problem with Illinois is the people. The state is filled with bad degenerate people with hateful beliefs. Even the ‘moderates’ and ‘independents’ in the state, who oscillate between R & D every election, are still hateful people with beliefs further to the left than most of the country and most of the world.
Illinois was originally settled by hillbillys from KY from the south northwards where they collided with Europe’s cast aways, later joined by Mississippi’s backwoods Africans, all just smart enough to pull a lever at a factory. We aren’t dealing with the best stock here. There was a golden age of Yankee ingenuity who blew through to build the railroads and factories but dam if I know where they went. If you understand the history then understand the people and their f*cked up voting patterns. Even NYC sometimes votes a R in.
LOL
LOL, I wouldn’t quite go that far, it was only a little more than a generation ago that the state as a whole was red and blue. But Madigan’s power in the house infected every level of government over 40 years, including his gerrymandered maps, creating policies that drove Republicans out of the state, and encouraged Democrats to move in. Then the suburbs and upper middle class in the north adopted Democrat/Progressive beliefs, and with all the rich UMC in the Chicago area, it became game over for Republicans. If the UMC in Chicago ever switches back to Republican, which… Read more »
