"It’s not always about what’s best for voters and their own political beliefs and values. It’s about winning. And to the power players and their camps, it’s 'just politics.' In the Land of Lincoln and across the country, money is power, and some candidates are using every legal loophole they can find to win, especially in light of a 2010 Supreme Court decision that allowed individuals and corporations to funnel unlimited funds to super PACs."
Rephrase the headline to reflect realities: Pritzker is the self-funded deep-pocketed billionaire who wants to be a politician, and who grievously harms Illinois political system. Big Money truly buys political power here in Illinois.
Now JB also has ambitions to be self-funded deep-pocketed last-minute replacement for Biden as extraordinarily-appointed Democratic candidate for 2024 presidential race. No other democrat has equal financial resources at their fingertips.
Pritzker family is prime example of “wealth doesn’t buy integrity”, nor does it create competency, or moral character. Gus Russo’s excellent older book “Supermob”, about Chicago Mob and Pritzker family dynasty, is still worth reading.

A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
