Bill giving local control to Illinois nursing homes for visitation policies advances – Center Square

The bill’s House sponsor, state Rep. Chris Bos, said the state has to learn from mistakes made during the pandemic. “If we don’t take the steps now moving forward to look back and make adjustments where we need to make adjustments like this bill so family members are not dying alone, shame on us."

This bill is to prevent seniors from dying alone, arguments about who has authority to make decisions about visitation. If 10,000 seniors lost their lives of nearly 35,000 deaths in Illinois who is responsible to ensure their safety. On May 27 and 28 of 2020 at a JB/Ezike press conference, they did a victory lap on all the good things learned from Washington state about seniors, and how Illinois was first in protecting its seniors. 10 days earlier JB/Ezike were sending out strike forces to help in following rules in congregate settings.
