Bill removing cannabis odor as cause for vehicle search headed to Illinois House – Center Square

The measure, sponsored by state Sen. Rachel Ventura, would still require that cannabis be stored in a secure, sealed, or re-sealable container.

Next on the list for the imbecile political animals inhabiting Illinois will be:

  1. No more searching vehicles when the driver clearly has alcohol on their breath
  2. No more searching vehicles that were weaving in traffic
  3. No more searching what’s left of vehicles that crash head-on into oncoming traffic
  4. No more searching vehicles that crash into buildings

Those texting while driving need to watch their keyster though!

Illinois political animal stupidity knows no bounds.

What’s next? Open bottle of beer is insufficient cause? A bloody knife? A gun? Of course aroma should be cause to search a vehicle. The legislature was in such a rush to generate tax money they didn’t bother to develop road side procedures akin to breathalyzers to address driving while high. They argued that pot was basically no different than alcohol so why it is not legal. Now they treat it differently?

Why would someone who has a supplier, pay 10X the price. They don’t. So, some do, but the majority does not. Cops can’t tell what is legal and what is not except with… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
