Brother’s defeat puts a political bullseye on the back of Ald. Ed Burke – Chicago Sun-Times

Comment: Better 50 years late than never. That's how long he's been in office. “We are coming after Ed Burke,” said Clem Balanoff, head of Our Revolution Illinois, a grass-roots political organization that grew out of Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign for President.

It’s also noteworthy to consider that both Burke and Madigan will see their income fall when Kaegi takes office and assessments are based on the real value of parcels, instead of artificially high prices designed to promote appeals. Even if assessments are higher, if they are based on actual value there won’t be much reason to appeal.

The Balanoff’s do alright for themselves. Clem makes $110K as the Assistant to the President of the AFL-CIO Transit Union out in DC and also managed to get paid an additional $30K as a political consultant to the very union he works for. How many people can claim that?! Tom makes over $200K at SEIU Local 1. James pulls in $86K at SEIU Local 73. It runs in the family.
