Chapter 9 Is the Best Bad Option for Chicago’s Pensions – Wall Street Journal

"It’s no longer credible to claim Chicago can work its way out of the huge hole it has dug for its pension plans over the past 20 years.... If Chicago’s employees wish to receive their pensions, and if Chicago’s residents wish to avoid being milked dry, the status quo is not the answer.... Chapter 9 of the U.S. bankruptcy code provides a means to cancel a great deal of that debt."

Chicago and Illinois are DOA, Goners, no chance in hell.
Nothing but a illegal Ponzi scheme.
Illinois is JUNK. Chicago is JUNK.
The Greed of the cops, teachers and firemen have destroyed the area for generations.
There is no longer any opportunity for the honest hard working taxpayer and their children
Move out ASAP, best day of your life.

For those of us that can read it, it’s a good article. I suffer from information overload so it’s good to have it brought to my attention, my move from IL notwithstanding. Everything that happens in Chicago has broad national implications which is why I still follow it.

Try various browsers with WSJ. Their paywall isnt a solid Yes or No. It’s a fairly sophisticated algorithm that lets non-subscribers through sometimes based upon the algorithm’s estimation of whether you may potentially become a future subscriber based on your browsing history.
