While CTA ridership numbers are trending upward, it is still a long way from the roughly 36.6 million monthly riders in January 2020.

The Sun-Times, once a great Chicago newspaper, now relegated to the groupthink of regurgitated talking points and press releases, proves the monolithic lockstep of such journalism substitutes. For reference, see the See-BS2 missive for the exact same story sounding almost as plagiarized as an old Grifter Joe campaign speech. That isn’t journalism, it’s stenography. The Sun-times regurgitated a CTA press release, no journalism there as usual. Let’s do their job for them. According to the CTA’s own data, CTA ridership in 2012 was 545 million annually. I drive past the a couple Metra stations. Pre scamdemic both lots always full. These days I am guessing at most 25% occupied. Was at tracks while a afternoon rush hour train stopped. Perhaps ten people exited, when I was taking the train my guess over 100 people on that train exited at that stop.
