Ban On Tipped Wages Will Lead To: (1) Job Cuts, Layoffs, And Reduced Hours For Workers; (2) Restaurant Shifts Away From Wait Staff — And Toward Automation, Drive Through, And Delivery

They are not banning tipped wages. They are banning sub-minimum wage pay. Restaurants aren’t going to shift away from wait staff because they need to pay them minimum wage. Under that logic they would eliminate back of house employees that are already getting minimum wage.

If it’s that big of a problem they can end tipping all together and just pay them a wage to work there. Restaurants will adapt and survive and the ones that don’t will be out of business.
