Chicago homeowners speak out on new property tax increases at West Side bonfire – ABC7 (Chicago)

Lawndale resident Thomas Worthy received a bill this week that was $977 more than what he paid last year. "We understand utilities are going up a things of that nature, but it's a valuation issue," he said. "We don't have the schools we need. It's economics that are not here, but we're being charged for economics in different communities."

They think they are being charged for the economics of different communities? Does any taxpayer in Illinois not feel that way? No one here gets the value of what is paid in property taxes. What a freaking waste of resources the state of Illinois has become.

Instead of sitting around a bonfire complaining they need to go to the polls and vote for different individuals next election.

Perhaps one of the residents was so upset they were the one captured on camera apparently trying to set City Hall on fire Friday while the security staff was blissfully unaware.
