Chicago Mayor Decries Trump Threat To Defund Democratic Cities – Patch Chicago

"If the president and his team are foolish enough to think they can unilaterally cut off our funding because we are not bending to his will, as if he is an emperor and not a president who is responsible to the people, once again we will see him in court, and we will win," Lightfoot said. "When we win, we will make him pay for what his foolishness has brought to the city of Chicago."

Lori, if you were half your volume in usefulness, you wouldn’t need the money… Oh well, when all you can do is hurl ad hominems and cry like a baby, I guess that’s what you do…

Trump has already announced a “defunding” of 4 cities that have descended into lawlessness: Portland, Washington, Seattle and New York (see e.g. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/02/us/politics/trump-funding-cities.html)

I gotta believe Chicago will not be far behind. All that frog-eyes has ever done is attack and belittle Trump. Now she thinks he is going to roll over for her? What a narcisscist.

The Pritzker, Daley, Madigan and Burke families have caused far more harm to the City, State and more importantly, the U.S. Constitution than this dippy bit** ever dreamt of.

Just tell everyone you know to screw these a$$holes and vote straight Republican this time around–including the judges!!

Daley, Madigan and Burke are just straight up thieves. Bubblehead Pritzger is just a fat, dumb entitled guy whose own family wouldn’t let him near a family business fearing he would destroy the family cash machine.

Just curious. How many democrats up for re-election are running unopposed? Does anyone know offhand? In many election cycles it is more than 50% so they are in regardless. Political boundaries ensure they never leave office and in certain districts there are probably sham candidates to steal votes thrown into the mix to be sure they win.
Will there be any checks and balances on mail in ballots? Many many dead people WILL be voting this year. Probably also Al Capone. Remember Chicago’s motto. Vote early and vote often.

If you do not protect the citizens of a city and only yourself why should the city be getting money?

This woman(?) who has delusions of being flown around on Airforce 1 is more dangerous than anything the City of Chicago has EVER had in the mayor’s office. Her derangement and narcissism is reaching even higher levels now, she needs to have her pot intake decreased or increased and/or her rage control meds checked.

I truly believe she has some profound mental issues.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
