Chicago Mayor Brandon JohnsonOn Monday, Chicago graduated more police recruits into their department. Mayor Brandon Johnson spoke at the event and said new officers must earn the residents' trust for the city to be safe.  "Your ability to make bonds with the community that have been disinvested in over the course of decades is critical to your service."

The education system spent tens of thousands of dollars on their education and cheated them out of it. Now the only economic opportunities are criminal.

Will the mayor ever recognize that disinvestment is a result of crime, not the cause? Probably not. It would leave him with nothing to say, since disinvestment seems to be his only talking point.
