Chicago moves to buy, renovate $50 million Greyhound station – CBS2 (Chicago)

Leaders from the department of planning and development pitched expanding the Canal/Congress TIF District to include the bus station on Harrison Street. That would allow Chicago to buy and renovate the terminal using property tax money put in a special pot for economic development.

Providing a decent bus terminal is one of many projects that could have been done for a small fraction of what’s being spent on the useless Red Line south extension.
