Chicago police have toolkit to prevent repeat chaos in Millennium Park – ABC7 (Chicago)

The new internal CPD memo instructs commanders citywide on how to staff-up for the weekend, cancel days off, overlap shifts, assign special patrols to retail corridors and "In the event of civil unrest and looting, area deputy chiefs and commanders should identify mobilization points" for officers. One option in the memo is entitled "Central Business District Emergency Closure Procedures."

Tool Kit from Menards, just more nonsensical busy work. Do they have a secret headquarters to coordinate showing up to the dance when everyone has gone home?

I remember the Rodney King riots,LAPD were told to do nothing, there was a group of Vietnamese store owners that had guns, protecting their businesses, unfortunatly the police came, and took the guns, and the stores were looted, and burned.Don’t escalate, thats a lot easier to say by someone sitting in an office, its a little harder to swallow when you’re the one stuck in the middle, getting a cinder block busted over your head. Once you surrender to the mobs, let them tire themselves out, you set a precedent thats hard to get away from. Time to let law enforcement enforce the law,key word being force.

Is Lori aware of plans to trash the city? Will she warn people to avoid downtown? Where is she getting secret intelligence about planned rioting. Would failure to share the threat be considered negligence? Where are the warnings? MY LIFE MATTERS!

Seeing Michigan Ave being looted and burned to the ground may actually cause Chicago voters to actually consider changing the political atmosphere, but then I woke up.

Have you seen or heard of this article. Police are considering closing off downtown this weekend. When they raise the bridges they should look in the river for canoes or small submarines for escape routes by the hoodlums. Maybe there will be some zip lines. This is too hard to believe.

GP is reporting Lori is blaming retailers for not securing their high end goods.. she blames retailers! They should provide more security! How about if they just start blasting away when mobs start smashing the stores? Lori is looking or retailers to stop crime. Madre De Dios!

Hey, I have a tool: Arrests and actual prison time. How about that?

Tom, you have suggested two tools to solve the problem. Unfortunately there is a third tool standing between the first and second tools you correctly recommend. That third useless tool is named Kim.
