Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
They cut the wrong jobs.
Why not have students do some of the cleaning under the supervision of the janitorial staff, and be paid for their work? I did that in my senior year of high school (58 years ago!), and kept the job for the following summer “deep clean” of the school, before heading off to college. Most of the tasks were easy to learn, but I found out that every job is important and has societal value. But I suppose that some people will object to protect their fiefdom..
Maybe the teachers could clean up the schools. After all they don’t seem to be spending time teaching anything.
Surely you’ve experienced loss of traction when winter roads are slippery. Is that always your fault for “not trying” or “not caring”? Some things aren’t necessarily subject primarily to your control or your will otherwise. Many times you get what life throws at you and simply have to deal with it as profitably as circumstances permit. If you live in a sunny-skies world where circumstances always yield to your willpower you are a rarity.
Oh I agree…that’s why the teacher’s should willingly accept janitorial duties when they get what life throws at them.
Isn’t there some sort of theory about when your expenses get out of control you have to start cutting services. Wonder if that’s what we see playing out here. What service gets cut next?
Maybe staff could do that instead of planning protest rallies . Just a thought
Give a buckets and rags to the teachers, perhaps this is what they can do during their 3 month vacation.
