Chicago sues five giant oil companies, accusing them of climate change destruction, fraud – Chicago Sun-Times

Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court Tuesday that names BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Shell, accusing the companies of discrediting science and misleading the public as the climate crisis continued to wreak havoc on the planet. The city is also suing the trade group American Petroleum Institute, which it accuses of conspiring with the companies to deceive consumers through disinformation campaigns.

If a climate religion devotee DC jury can find Mark Steyn guilty of defaming a lying, cretinous climate cleric; if an imbecile hyper-partisan judge in NYC can single handedly impose an arbitrary fine for a practice that every real estate owner in the world employs, then it remains possible that a low-information jury could side with radical climate clerics and further hamper a critical industry that affects everyone, both climate cleric and sane people alike, from producing reasonably priced energy that moves everything in the world. These lunatics will not stop until civilization is destroyed. Remember, YOU are the carbon… Read more »

What a silly bunch of hypocrites. Do they use gasoline and diesel in cop cars, fire trucks, ambulances, the Mayor’s private car, the CTA, Metra?

Why hasn’t Mayor Johnson replaced the city’s ICE fleet of vehicles with EVs?

Now that would show his undying commitment to the climate crazies.

Will the Chicago Marxists cause the massive oil refinery on the Des Plaines to be closing and moving to say Indiana? Wasn’t the Tribune just spouting off of all the development in the Minooka area?

Maybe they will stop doing business with Illinois.

And how much of that evil product did the city purchase last month, Mayor Goof???Bigger question is how much money are they wasting on this, as the bodies pile up, the taxes get raised, and the schools get worse?

Direct fallout from the lunacy of Judge Engoron in NYC. For the Marxists, it’s like throwing crap against the wall for acts of confiscation. Rules for Radicals – there are none.

They should stop gasoline deliveries in the city, as well as any independent operators who don’t want to be sued.

Behind the scenes, Bill Neidhardt & Jason Lee coordinate all the already tired /duplicated progressive agenda stuff for CTU/Brandon & crew like this lawsuit.

OK, let’s talk about fraud and climate. Chicago’s Emergency Climate Declaration in 2020 said we need “An end to the Sixth Mass Extinction through widespread conservation and restoration of ecosystems”

More Democrat Virtue Signaling paid for by the taxpayers all to distract the dumb Democrat voters from the massive failures of BJ and his CTU puppetmasters. Disgusting.

This lawsuit will be ridiculed from coast to coast, and the leftists who support it are gonna get another hard lesson about the First Amendment.

Thousands of products we use every day are made from petroleum so what will replace them? There is no end to what Brandon will do. Next he will sue dairy farms for making white milk since that may be construed as being racist.
PPF is correct when he said it’s what the voters wanted and they are sure getting it with both barrels.

Brando proves himself to be a bigger idiot by the day. Simply an enormous tool and a pathetic poser.

The best response would be for all of the companies named in the lawsuits to stop shipping their products to the jurisdictions that are suing them.

Stop sending petroleum products to the City of Chicago. Give the residents a taste of that.

Do it for 30 days. See how it works. Then maybe even do it longer. Give them a nice big slug of their own medicine.

Make the voters feel the pain of their own stupidity.
