Ted joined Tom Miller of WJPF to talk about the details of Gov. Pritzker’s proposed $52 billion budget, why the state is struggling now that federal covid dollars have run out, the controversy surrounding Tier 2 government pensions, why Illinois’ expensive education system fails to teach children to read, the outrageous demands of the Chicago Teachers Union, and more.
Here’s a start: CTU is a complete and total failure. That is an indisputable fact. Dissolve CPS. Fire all the CTU vermin. Rehire the handful that are competent. Reconstitute the school system with school vouchers for all. Anything less simply proves that CTU is simply an employment program for the unemployable who exist because of massive bribes to Illinois politicians.
CTU has been wildly successful as a labor organization and they will continue to exercise their constitutional right to collectively bargain. You aren’t allowed to fire them for exercising their rights. There’s your indisputable fact.
I disagree. I’ve known several labor higher ups in my life, and years ago, one of them (in words I am paraphrasing now) told us over dinner at a fancy restaurant that a successful labor union finds that delicate balance between leaving money on the table and harming or bankrupting the employer. He stressed that unrealistic demands that damage the employer’s financial is detrimental to the unionized employee, because the employee might soon find himself out of a job, or with more work as his co-workers are terminated. The CTU has completely abandoned this maxim. They’ve made the most ridiculous… Read more »
Congratulations PPF, you are right. They have been wildly successful as a labor organization.
The UAW used automakers to achieve success, the Teamsters used truckers. But no one had the ingenuity to use children as teacher unions have done. A stroke of genius- those vulnerable children were even better as hostages to union demands than cars or trucks could ever be.
All they do is demand………how about we DEMAND they do their job and educate the kids!!!!………or don’t collect your paycheck
They are doing their job. I believe over 97 percent of the teachers were rated proficient or higher. It’s not the fault of the teachers. Why don’t you get a job teaching and show everyone how it’s done.
Did that mouth…….. and my class could read and do math also!!
You taught in CPS? Doubt it. Take that skill set of yours and show all those CPS teachers how to do it.
Did I say CPS MOUTH????? Besides ……your name says all you are worried about…… kids should come first….just like family!!!
So you have no idea what you’re talking about. You have no idea how to help these students and you have no plan to bring your special teaching skills to CPS. I thought kids came first. lol
You are a sorry sack and should quit trying to bully people…….to me you are a brain dead person that only hurls insults with no solutions on topics you know nothing about!!!! GO COLLECT YOUR PENSION……….LOL
Give the CPS teachers the SAT and see how they do.
My guess is most could not get into college with the scores they get.
Yet they already graduated from college so there goes that hypothesis. Also, you don’t need those tests any more to get into college. Haven’t really thought this one through poor taxpayer.
Only at the good schools are the SAT required.
MIT, Georgetown University and the University of Florida are among schools that quickly chose to reinstate the requirements, with MIT announcing the change in 2022. Many others have spent the years since the virus arrived studying what effect going test-optional had on their admitted classes.Mar 18, 2024
Thank you……you have more patients replying to him than I do
YOU REALLY ARE A BULLY WITH NO FACTS……GO COLLECT YOUR PENSION
YOU ARE CORRECT!!
