Chicago Teachers Union pulls teachers out of class, away from students – Illinois Policy

The Chicago Teachers Union urged members to use a “release day” to leave their classrooms and lobby state lawmakers for more funding during the veto session. CTU members already miss a significant number of days. With member attendance in schools at its lowest point in 10 years, CTU member attendance is 10% lower than the rest of the state.

DOJ needs to investigate CTU. CTU is not a teachers union, but a progressive, communist political activist group. CTU only cares about power and money. No more money until teachers start teaching and student test scores improve. CTU just lowered the standards because they are not doing their jobs. Accountability- quit blaming everyone else. The failed public schools are their fault.

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court ruled a few years ago that its not their business so they ducked the issue, ruling that it’s a political question and not for the courts.

Another example of how education is secondary to the CTU getting what they want.

They aren’t teachers . They are political activists.

CTU-CPS is a failed school system. Fire them all and close it. The entire operation is counter productive and has lost/abandoned its primary purpose and directive.
