Chicago to host 2024 Democratic National Convention – Chicago Sun-Times

The United Center with the Chicago skyline in the backgroundPresident Joe Biden called Gov. JB Pritzker to tell him about Chicago’s selection on Tuesday morning before leaving for Ireland. Pritzker told him, “You know that Chicago is your kind of town. We’re going to throw a huge party, and it’s going to be a real big celebration of all of your successes."

A celebration of all of Grifter Joe’s successes wouldn’t even rate a McDonald’s Happy Meal. An empty stage will do.

Stand by for the rabid “Defund the Police(rs)” to suddenly employ a huge security contingent and perform a “Big Sweep”

Wait until the delegates are downtown on the Mag Mile dodging looters. Put the delegates in the homeless shelters so they can see their base.

There was a huge party back in 1968. The event was so popular it made national and international news.

Wouldn’t suprise me if what’s left of the Mag Mile is destroyed by looters coming in town for the convention.

I cant wait for Nancy Pelosi’s limo to get carjacked. Democrat Conventioneers need to personally experience the “law and order” of ‘defund the police’ and 100 years of Democrat party rule.

Should be great entertainment for the rest of the nation. Those police that still haven’t quit will be assigned to the convention center. The rest of the city will be on its own. Good times.

Pritzker is buying his way to the top of the Democrat party pile

Between crime and riots, this will be the Mother Of All Shit-Shows — BJ The Race Clown will take the fall — cops will not break a sweat to help him save face

CPD needs to call in sick all week. I’ll be fine in my house with my 2nd amendment resources. Let the Democrat conventioneers experience the looters, BLM and defund the police vermin personally.

Well, with all the added security the city might be a bit safer for a week or two.

While CPD is locked in through 2025, CTU’s contract expires summer 2024. If Vallas won, you know damn well CTU would hold the city hostage with all their demands and risk the city being embarrassed. With Brandon, will CTU capitulate and be reasonable in negotiations? This is the perfect time to pounce, yet something tells me they’ll be docile.

“will CTU capitulate and be reasonable in negotiations?” I don’t think they have to, pretty sure Brandon will give them what they want. If you watched the election results on WGN there was a woman from CTU that had a laundry list of stuff the union thought the schools should be involved in. Affordable housing, mental health care, etc. You name it, more money and more jobs and a bigger stronger union. I don’t see a strike, if Vallas won there absolutely would have been a strike. I do expect some groups “that want to be heard” and some “where’s… Read more »

“You rang, Sir…???” https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/walmart-closing-stores-chicago Walmart closing stores across Chicago By FOX 32 Digital StaffPublished April 11, 2023  The four locations shutting down are in Chatham, Kenwood, Lake View and Little Village. The retail giant pointed to dwindling profits as the main reason it is shuttering those locations. “The simplest explanation is that collectively our Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago – these stores lose tens of millions of dollars a year, and their annual losses nearly doubled in just the last five years,” the company said in a statement. The one thing about progressives is that they see the failures as successes and celebrate their follies. They know they are giving their Republican enemies so much material and fodder to mock and ridicule them, and yet, they come back for more. Decisions like this – choosing Chicago/IL as their convention HQ – might be the hubris before their downfall. Like Icarus, Democrats are flying a little too close to the sun hosting the convention on the west side, while many convention goers will need to make their way to River North for their hotels. There’s a good chance violence… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
