Chicago Tribune sues Perplexity AI for copyright infringement – Axios

The Tribune's claim also accuses Perplexity of distributing fabricated content, also known as "hallucinations," next to the Tribune's trademark, making the mistakes appear as mistakes by the paper's reporters and editors. The New York Times filed a separate suit against the company the day after the Tribune, also accusing the company of copyright infringement.

The Trib complains that Perplexity is distributing fabricated content aka “hallucinations” next to the Trib’s trademark.

The Trib is expert at distributing their own fabricated content aka “hallucinations” next to their trademark.

The Trib can’t produce a decent newspaper; maybe they can boost their income via lawsuits?

Too funny. The stilted, garbage disseminators are suing someone for tampering with the garbage that they disseminated.

All of AI is plagiarism.

The Tribune does not allow comment from the readers meaning, to me, it has quite often become a slanted propaganda outlet for certain business organizations and the entrenched Illinois politicians. I find it hard to feel sorry for t he Tribune and if it dies like so many other fish wraps my thoughts would revolve around a feeling that it dug its own grave. Perhaps instead of suing it should be happy its content is sometimes used because that way many who normally wouldn’t will instead read some of its weakened pablum
