Water is a human right. Go dig your own well and take your own water for free. No one is stopping you (although my city’s zoning code prohibits it). Or put a cistern on your property and collect it – Lord knows the last few springs here have been the wettest ever. I mean, that water falls from the sky for free, every other day, inches at a time during the spring. So freaking much that it backs up into my basement and I have three pumps to remove it all. For some reason it seems that Lightfoot and Pritzker are only interested In taking care of the hapless people in the state of Illinois. What about breaks for us middle class folks, you are making us poor also. I forget, that’s part of the big overall plan.

A set of state lawmakers want to extend CPS’ current school closing moratorium to February 1, 2027 – the same year CPS is set to transition to a fully-elected school board. That means schools like Manley High School, with capacity for more than 1,000 students but enrollment of just 78, can’t be closed for anther three years.
