Chicago’s current sales tax is broken down into four categories: 6.25 percent statewide sales tax; 1.25 percent city sales tax; 1.75 percent county sales tax; and 1 percent RTA tax. Under the bill, the RTA portion of the tax will rise to 1.25 percent in Cook County starting June 2026. In the collar counties it will increase from 0.75 percent to 1 percent.
Johnson’s simpleton grin, akin to that of fellow traveler Bass in LA when getting grilled about fleeing to Ghana in the face of approaching, predicted wildfires, tells us all we need to know. That cat swallowed the canary whole and is digesting it ever so happily.

Death by a thousand cuts. Who is really going to notice an extra .25 percent? It’s just that when you look at your receipt and realize how much sales tax you’re paying on every purchase, reality sets in.

More higher taxes. Will the fun never cease? Your predicament reminds me of how democrat plantation owners would use their female slaves for pleasure. Same democrats. Different slaves.
Yes. I compare it appropriately to two professionals that don’t always achieve success. Unlike unhinged people that compare Trump to Nazis or in this case higher taxes to being a slave raped by their master. Thanks for pointing out you are just as unhinged.
Sorry, we forgot that the only person who is not unhinged is you. Everyone who doesn’t like the state of affairs in Illinois is unhinged and should just shut up. Yep, got it. Will take it under advisement. Food for thought. Maybe you should ask yourself that if you have it all covered why does all this upset you so? Let me guess, everyone is stupid except you.
Somebody is sensitive today. Personal Attacks? I’m wondering if you need to resort to personal attacks could it be that you don’t feel that confident in your position? Who are trying to convince?

Sort of funny, highest taxes and the worst services and the winner is the pensioner.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

More pathetic slavery comparisons. What’s wrong with you?
Says the guy who compares teachers failing to teach kids to read to doctors failing to cure all their patients.

Yes, the professionals who are tasked with teaching 6 and 7 year olds to read are just like the professionals tasked with curing cancer.
Who’s unhinged?
