They are pushing a referendum on the February ballot in the city’s election asking voters whether Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the incoming alderman should support an ordinance to “prevent the displacement of renters, condo & home owners in South Shore in light of the impact of the Obama Center and growing development in the area”. Some residents are conflicted: they support it because of what Obama means to Black people in Chicago; Still, the center should “serve a purpose” for those who live in the surrounding neighborhoods, not just for those who don’t.

Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.

Best thing that could have happened to them. Leave the state, this is the perfect opportunity to change your family’s life for the better. Get away from greedy government. Highest taxes, lowest services and not the change of a nickel.
It’s funny how Obama didn’t come back to live in his Chicago home after his presidency. It was off to the Vineyard with trips to beautiful destinations in between when he wasn’t hanging with the mega wealthy. You’ll have to trust him, he really does care about the downtrodden. It’s just that they’re so dang poor and dangerous.
