Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.

He is not wrong. What he misses though is that the progressive liberal platform runs counter to the American Dream, rather it wants a perpetual nanny state. Also interesting that the police chief offers no tactical solutions. Sure, this is an interesting overarching strategy but his immediate job is to tactically lead the department. He should run for office if he feels jobs are the solution, not be the police chief.
Supt Brown is absolutely right. People here need opportunity for legitimate employment at a living wage. That takes capital investment to provide workers with the skills and tools that will make their labor produce a living wage and a reasonable return on that invested capital. Problem is that the political system needs more and more tax money from the state and local economy to perpetuate itself. Almost no company will invest in areas with constant murders and drive bys. Kill the murderers. Then, the community can have jobs, school and businesses without fear. щ(゜ロ゜щ)
There’s more to it, in the current political environment. Leadfoot and I’d argue Prickster do not want to encourage private capital investment or promote private sector job opportunity. They are out for massive reduction in the middle class and increase in the dependent underclass. And the resultant political system to maintain that.
I’ll take counter-arguments but we can already see many steps they’ve either taken or failed to take in the last few months that support this thesis vs. the opposite.
