Column: Without Madigan, ComEd corruption show still went on – Champaign News-Gazette

Jim Dey: "He (Madigan) contends it is 'a political stunt motivated by a transparent political agenda.' That, of course, is true. The GOP is trying to score political points at Madigan’s expense. In fact, the probe is so unprincipled and deceitful, it’s exactly what Madigan, one of whose nicknames is the 'Velvet Hammer,' would have done to Durkin if their positions were reversed."

There is absolutely no point in pursuing the corrupt politicians without giving those that bribed them even stiffer sentences.

If Madigan gets 14 years then the Com Ed briber’s should get 25 years. Then, and only then, will the “Official Corruption” in Illinois come to an end.

Remember…

It is the money that is the cause of the corruption. Stop those that give the money and the problem goes away.
