Commentary: Illinois shouldn’t rush to judgment on federal school voucher program – Chicago Tribune*

"I am a Chicago Public Schools’ high school teacher, a member of the CTU and a parent with kids that attended both public and private schools. These experiences have showed me that all schools need the proper materials and personnel to offer a quality education, and all parents should be awarded the opportunity to make the choice that is best for their children."

Pritzker and IL Democrats will do whatever the CTU tells them to do. Lying won’t be a problem for them.

The school scholarship program does not involve State funds nor does it take away funding from the public schools. What it does do is provide funding for private non public schools at no cost to the State while providing scholarships for parents who wish for their children to escape to poor performing Illinois public schools. The comments from Froylan Jimenez, as printed in the Tribune, are the usual misinformation we have come to expect from a representative from the unionized teachers or in other words simply fake news. I didn’t take it that way. I saw a whole lot of smoke being blown coupled with considerable wishy washiness with no backing of this new program. it has nothing to do with the former State program yet that was thrown into the fray to further confuse the issue. If the author was for the program they could have simply said it instead of the lengthy diatribe amounting to, at most to me, a let’s wait and see attitude meaning let’s not implement it till we know more about it, that simply implies they are not backing it. I see her position as neutral to slightly leaning in favor of it.

She is definitely not going to be admired by the Marxist clowns leading the CTU because she did not condemn it.

She definitely did not come out as an absolute supporter of it.
