Repeal in whole. Politicians who go against the safety of citizens need to step aside, forever! Jail the criminals and throw away the keys!

My skeptical & cynical nature tells me this (and a lot of other legislation) is purposely designed to cause lawsuits, enriching the lawyers, many of whom are or were politicians…

One of the better commentaries I’ve read on the SAFE-T Act. Violates the state constitution twice: single-subject rule and attempting to re-write a clause via the Legislature. All 3 authors worked in a legal or judicial capacity. The criminal justice system in Illinois may very well be in need of adjustment and change. But the SAFE-T Act is not constitutionally sound and contains provisions that do not protect the public. It should be repealed. A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
