Competing Proposals to Create Elected Board to Oversee CPD Remain in Limbo – WTTW (Chicago)

The federal consent decree governing the operations of the Chicago Police Department requires the creation of an elected oversight board, and Mayor Lori Lightfoot supported one of the proposals during her 2019 campaign for mayor; she vowed to implement it during her first 100 days in office. The consent decree will reach its second anniversary on Feb. 29.
