So they plan to close the achievement gap by educating only the minority kids and holding the white kids out of school? Sounds like Teachers Union thinking; nothing racist there. Do the white parents get a refund on their property taxes?

If a White kid dares to show up at school for in-person learning will a platoon of Illinois National Guardsment prevent the white kid from entering the building?

Everyone should know that in-person learning will surely lead to death by COVID….no less an authority than the Chicago Teachers Union affirms this fact. Thus, black and Latino students are being subjected to the 2020 version of a Holocaust, while Whites are being exempted. This is a totally racist, anti-black/Hispanic proposal by the city of Evanston….they should be ashamed. BLM and ANTIFA should immediately be notified to protest this systemic racism.

Families need to run away from public schools if they can.

There is not much in the news today that I can say leaves me speechless but this is beyond belief!

The outcome will undoubtedly be interesting to watch as it unfolds…

These people cannot make up their minds. School unveils plan to help minority students close achievement gap by in school instruction. But haven’t they been saying that classrooms present an extremely high risk of Covid? And aren’t minority groups in more danger from Covid? Be careful, your narratives are tripping over each other.

Public education is so often characterized by a lack of candor and honesty. The likely truth here is that the virtual, or on-line participation rate, is rather low for minority students, and the schools want to bring minority students back first, because the state of academic progress for these students is likely dismal. The schools are all about closing the racial achievement gap, almost to the exclusion of all other objectives. Presented this way, people might better understand their actions, but saying unflattering things about certain groups is simply prohibited.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
