Starting in 2023, the elected officials will automatically get either a 3% or inflation-tied salary bump each year, whichever is smaller, and the raises “shall continue until the Cook County Board of Commissioners votes to repeal or amend the annual increase,” according to the legislation’s text.
Huh, do they do their own annual performance reviews to determine if they deserve any increase at all? Who evaluates individual performance? Sounds like each person just evaluates themselves, “yeah I’m great, exceeds expectations”, now I’ll go vote for my raise!

The most crooked corrupt democrats in the US vote themselves automatic pay raises — nothing shocking here
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
