Cook County officials want to offer $300 million in loans to suburban towns to pay bills – WBEZ (Chicago)

“The impact will not be felt evenly and will disproportionately affect taxing districts in historically disinvested and low-income communities,” Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle said Thursday in a briefing with reporters. Chicago can’t apply.

Seriously, this reminds me of when Metra did an upgrade on their network that failed during the morning rush hour. What politically connected firm did they hire to do this? Is it the same firm that did the affordable care website? If this was done internally then it’s time to trash the IT department and outsource it. I’m not an IT expert but I’ve hired for small scale things like this and we always had the ability to roll back if need be. Amazing how Preckwinkle always gets a pass from the useless Chicago media.

The Chicago media is a thing of the past. The Sun Times was preferred by vagrants since the late 60’s! The Tribune had real reporting and integrity back in the day until they became a big weathervane.

Ridiculous. The one thing government does best – tax – our government can’t even do right.
