District spokesperson Hannah Dillow said the county’s delayed payment of property taxes owed to school systems forced D65 to borrow money “to meet payment obligations to employees and vendors/service partners.” D65 has incurred $27, 500 in “issuance costs,” expects the interest to total $152, 950, and also has “experienced $961,662 … in lost investment income."
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
They should sue Preckwinkle and company for total incompetence.
