Cook County, which includes Chicago, has made its guaranteed minimum income permanent – Business Insider/MSN

Cook County released survey findings based on responses from those who received cash payments between 2022 and 2025. The majority said the payments made them more financially secure, reduced their stress, and improved their mental health. The top reported uses for the payments were food, rent, utilities, and transportation.

Other “studies” have found that the extra (free) money decreases actual paid work. Also, like the lottery proceeds going to education, the survey takers realized that they should say something that makes it sound like they used the money wisely so they said it was spent on food, rent, utilities and transportation. In fact, it could have been diverted to purses, new car payments, restaurant food, etc.but honesty is not the best policy when public money is the subject. Preckwinkle needs to be stopped from taxing suburbs to fund Chicago. How many suburban residents will qualify? Vote her out!
