Aggravated assaults and batteries on the Chicago Transit Authority reached at least a 24-year high in 2025; The upward trend has continued into 2026, with those crimes climbing 33 percent over the same period last year. The CTA has touted an overall drop in crime, due in part to falling reports of robberies and thefts, but the record number of felony assaults and batteries underscores the work still needed to improve the CTA’s image.

If you live in the burbs don’t bother coming to Chicago. Nothing special these days. The Golden Corridor not only has plentiful of jobs but plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy.

And the statistics on violent crime are probably fudged to show less violent crime than there actually is.
Certain crimes aren’t categorized the same anymore, which leads them to not be reported and/or have less penalties handed out, just like they want.
Crime on CTA won’t stop until Democrats arrest, charge, and incarcerate criminals. There must be consequences for criminals, or crimes will increase. Schools need to educate children, not indoctrinate them. If Children are to have a future, other than a life of crime, they need quality education, not what CTU wants.
How much crime is actually even being reported? A month or so ago, a friend related to me that he witnessed the incident of a large, black man menacing four Asians, three of them women, on the blue line . Tough guy finally decided to get off the train and disappeared before the CTA police arrived. No perp, no charges, no crime, right?
Lets see. First we could hire more police officers less peace keepers. Second take Braindead 100+ security squad and deploy them. Third take Putzgers security force and use them. Lets see if Putzger and Braindead really care about our safety

Hey Sun Times…its more than “Image” that CTA needs to improve. It’s actual safety.
