Democrat Says ‘Left’ Is Out For Blood After He Criticized Chicago’s Shielding Of Illegal Migrants From ICE – Daily Caller

Ald. Ray Lopez argues that the city would be better served if they enable deportation officers to focus on criminals instead of the immigrant community at large. “The left is coming after folks like myself who are trying to find a middle ground,” Lopez said. “Because I’m not trying to make Donald Trump the enemy for the next four years to win my re-election. I’m trying to protect people in the community."

Ald. Lopez wants to have it both ways, maybe because many of his constituents are illegals or have family members who are? Weak sauce.

It would be interesting to compare Mexico’s policies concerning “illegal aliens” in their country versus those of the US. Why do I think Mexico is much tougher on the problem than we are?

Every single one of the 39 alderhumans who voted against this should be heckled mercilessly every time they step out into public. I don’t always agree with Lopez but, for a long time now, he had been one of the only (relatively) sane people in Chicago govt. Unfortunately, he is surrounded by people who are determined to ride their folly right off the Bridge of Khazad-Dûm into the flaming depths.
