Economists: Guaranteed income programs should replace, not supplement, other welfare subsidies – Center Square

Cities, states and private foundations across the country have launched similar pilot guaranteed income programs. Among them, Chicago launched a guaranteed income program in 2022, which provides 5,000 households in Chicago $500 a month in taxpayer money for 12 months.

Terrible idea. All that money would go to drugs, gambling and fast food, and they’d be back a week after begging for more money and benefits.
