Do you honestly think there are enough schools for that to ever happen? If you upsized, who do you think would end up working at those schools as teachers? That’s right, the old public school teachers. They would organize and collectively bargain for better wages and benefits just as they do in the public schools. How much influence would the state have over those newly founded schools? Quite a bit since they would be the ones paying. That is why I still paid my taxes and paid to send my kids to go to private schools. I saw how the public schools worked.
Completely understand. What makes private schools work so well is their ability to remove high needs students, disciplinary problems and not tolerate any behavior that doesn’t align with their purpose of providing a great education. They also don’t have to follow some of the curriculum that is driven by politics of the majority. Now, how happy would you have been with their school it that same school starting allowing all the behavioral children to enroll? School choice needs to be an option for students so that students are not forced into failed public schools. Parents have the to send their kids to schools that educate students , not indoctrinate kids.
