Embattled IL GOP Chair Don Tracy Becomes Distraction as Names Surface to Replace Him – Illinois Review

"Republican voters are still reeling from massive losses during the November election in Illinois that saw the GOP losing every statewide race; losing winnable congressional races; and handing Democrats once again a supermajority in both the Illinois House and Senate chambers – leaving Republicans voiceless and irrelevant in local and state matters. And despite publishing a weekly Chairman’s Memo, and serving as the leader of the IL Republican party, Tracy has yet to take any responsibility for the losses."

We should also be calling out the Republican Leadership at the County Levels. For instance, Jim Zay in Dupage County as been lackluster at best. He is for the most part, Democrat Light and did not take the Dem’s to task and call out their record for the past several years. There is plenty of blame go around.

The Illinois Republican Party needs a new fresh face with stature– a superstar– to revitalize the entire organization. In the past fifty years new faces have jumped into Republican politics and made a difference. Chuck Percy parachuted in to the US Senate straight from Bell and Howell. Jim Thompson came straight out of the US Attorney’s office. Just like Dick Phelan came out of nowhere on the Dem side. The Republican farm system has a bunch of uninspiring, boring plodders. I don’t know who that Republican is, but without a superstar like that the Republican Party is an afterthought.

The problem is the grip on the electoral process they have in blue counties. After they manage to flip a county from red to blue, they cheat… Read more »
