Gov. Pritzker Sued Over Gerrymandered Districts And Illinois Voting Rights Act – Edgar County Watchdogs

The lawsuit seeks to declare the Illinois Voting Rights Act as violative of the Fifteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, which would essentially cause the current map to be redrawn in compliance with the Fifteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. Former State Representative Jeanne Ives filed this lawsuit.

Actually I find it quite odd that only certain minorities can represent certain minorities. This ruling is way overdue to get rid of this remnant from LBJs great society days.

With the Illinois supreme court that he bought and paid for, Prickster is real worried. LOL.

If Presidential election results are any kind of an indicator, and ignoring the very real possibility of fraudulent ballots (Particularly in Cook), there are only 4 counties in IL that are 2/3rds Democrat ballots/ votes. The other 98 counties are split or Republican. Yet Districts have been configured so that Democrats have 14 of the 17 districts, with the 17th being one of the most outrageous in America. Layer on top gerrymandering from the struck VRA, and the overwhelming number of voters in IL have been disenfranchised by Democrat gerrymandering for decades.

the SC ruling on race-based redistrict as unconstitutional has exposed those with a vested interest in keeping it going.
Thomas Sowell with his characteristic clarity and brevity describre them:

“When people get used to preferential treatment, equal treatment feels like discrimination”

Congressional , Senate, and county districts should be drawn by population and geography only.

It’s about time we started attacking the comical district boundaries in Illinois Even Barack Obama famously criticized the silly gerrymandering that might just be the worst set of maps in the entire country. Hopefully the Repub establishment in DC will get on board for this and help get a fair number of seats back for the party.

It’s not like they haven’t tried but without a direct SCOTUS ruling to help it was impossible to break the Democrat stranglehold on the state. Can this get to SCOTUS fast enough you know the state courts and the Illinois supreme court (bought and paid for) will block this as long as they can.
7th will probably also put this on hold as well, just like PICA that’s been sitting nearly 2 years.
