Probably the worst deal of all time- maybe 2nd to the Manhattan deal. Richie should be vegging out in a prison cell.

I don’t think it was bad that they sold the meters if it eliminated a good number of city employees. I think it would have been better to retain ownership and have it privately managed. What I would really like to know is how the sale price was determined. Typically when you sell an income stream there’s a cap rate that’s applied to the income stream. Was that cap rate applied to the meter rates that were in effect at the time of the sale or was it applied to the increased rates. For example a meter charge of $.50… Read more »

Didn’t Daley’s Chief of Staff end up,with an executive job at the parking meter company? Didn’t Daley end up,with a do nothing 6 figure job at the law firm that represented the meter company’s side of the deal. Wasn’t corruption, bribery and under the table shenanigans involved?

Yes, Daley is employed at a 6-figure job while collecting a cumulative pension from the State, County and City. Chicagoans are such suckers.
