Hundreds Of Northwestern Students Protest In Evanston, Clash With Police – CBS2 (Chicago)

“With bricks, battering some of our officers. They had shields, so after that it was time to send a message that we’re not going to let people just just come in here and tear up the City of Evanston,” said Chief Demitrous Cook.

It’s time to shoot to kill rioters, looters and those throwing things at the police. It’s the only way this will stop.

That was Mayor Daley’s advice in 1968. I lived in Old Town then, recently returned from the Army. It was an ugly time but compared to today? It was a trip to Disneyland. The hippie freaks of the late-60s have returned with a vengeance. Those who are not Department Heads at “universities” are takin’ it to the streets. If only Pete Seeger were her to supply the background music!
We need totally new ‘rules of engagement’ to deal with these maniacs. How about starting…tomorrow!

Another grossly biased and inaccurate headline from the liberal media. Correct headline is: Northwestern Students Loot and Riot in Evanston.

Exactly right.

Why not give the peaceful demonstrators exactly what they ask for and ban all police presence on the Northwestern University Campus?

If it were not for all the small businesses located in downtown Evanston, I would have included that too.

As far as the Evanston homeowners go:

Screw ’em.

They are getting exactly what they have voted for.

Umbrellas should be banned at protests.

Violators should have their umbrellas confiscated (no they will not be returned) and the violator charged with a crime.

Cook County State”s Attorney Kim Foxx and her counterparts in Philadelphia and San Francisco and elsewhere have through lack of prosecution and little to no cash bail enabled the chaos.

Evanston and that stupid “school” are just getting what they both deserve. Dead from the neck up with all the credentials anyone could want. The fraud of “education” is on life-support. What a crew of pompous and useless fools.

Universities have become training grounds for protestors, nihilists and marxists. Hard sciences are even becoming corrupted

wrong, there IS a background check. After all, the deep state needs something to extort you with.

Sure I would and I would pay them on a weekly basis too.

Of course, they would be laid off from November through April, when the grass doesn’t grow.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
