Illegal immigrants in Illinois and across the U.S. get financial aid for college – Center Square

In Illinois, access to state financial aid through House Bill 460 was signed into law by the Gov. J.B. Pritzker in December 2025. The change made illegal immigrant students eligible for state programs such as the Monetary Award Program grant, which provides need-based financial assistance for higher education.

No financial aid for college tuition should go to illegals. Financial aid should only go to US citizens. What about his doesn’t Pritzker and the IL Democrats understand? They are supposed to represent IL US citizen taxpayers, not illegals.

Way to go Prickster! Spending more of our money on people who shouldn’t even be here, paid for by the people who should,but won’t as soon as they get an opportunity to escape this hellhole of a state .

If they study and work hard, they will soon be the boss of your kid who lives in your basement playing video games and smoking pot. Any group if given a chance can and will succeed if they work.

So they give state financial aid to illegals instead of reducing in-state tuition for taxpaying citizens. Can’t make this up.

Yes, you can easily put that spin on it. To me it’s more in the realm of “pay me now or pay me later” essentially. The hope on my part as regards supporting this plan is that getting a college education will more likely lead to a higher paying financial future than not for most recipients. That also gives the presumption of such people have a lower probability of needing public welfare support for years on end as adults.
