Illinois doing all it can to ensure the worst year ever for illegal border crossings – Quickpoint

The spike in illegal border crossings from Mexico has reached truly extraordinary proportions, likely to make 2021 the worst year ever with 1.8 million illegal crossings projected at the current pace.

And that spike is rapidly shaping up to be far and away the biggest COVID super spreader to date. In just the last week in just one city, McAllen, Texas 7,000 migrants were released and were immediately tested for the coronavirus through a city contractor. More than 1,500 people tested positive over the past seven days, according to a city document issued Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Illinois is apparently doing everything its leadership can think of to undermine border enforcement.

It would be bad enough if this A.P. headline were all there was to it: “New law will effectively end immigrant detention in Illinois.” That story was about a bill signed Monday by Gov. JB Pritzker that will end local government agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement allowing jails to house immigrant detainees awaiting court hearings. Current contracts must end by January 2022 and new agreements are prohibited. “The measure likely ends the federal agency’s power to detain immigrants in Illinois,” it concludes.

But new laws and an executive order signed Monday go further, which are detailed here and summarized below:

Governor JB Pritzker today signed HB 121, SB 667, SB 1596 and SB 2665 into law, legislation expanding protections for immigrant and refugee communities and further establishing Illinois as the most welcoming state in the nation. The new laws strengthen the TRUST Act and make Illinois the second state in the nation to require local officials to end partnerships with ICE, address hate crimes against immigrant communities, expand workplace protections for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, and create the Illinois Immigration Impact Task Force to ensure state programs and policies best serve immigrant residents.

Pritzker also signed an executive order creating the Welcoming Illinois Office, to report to the Office of the Governor and the Secretary of the Department of Human Services while being housed and supported by the Department of Human Services. The Office will work to coordinate, develop and implement policies and practices to make Illinois a more welcoming and equitable state for immigrants and refugees.

“These bills mark a crucial step towards protecting immigrants and decriminalizing immigration, said Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (D-IL 4th District). (Emphasis added.)

Earlier, Illinois passed legislation that banned the establishment of private, for-profit immigrant detention centers and restricted landlords’ use of a tenants’ immigration status against them. The Pritzker Administration also acted to provide undocumented students with access to state financial aid.

The border with Mexico is nearly entirely open. If present trends of illegal entries continue as projected, one analyst wrote, the Biden Administration “will either be pegged as maliciously leaving the border open or as the most incompetent administration ever — by far — with respect to border control.”

Illinois is doing all it can to ensure that failure.

Take a look at the fines for falsifying vaccine status.
Glad the same thing is happening on the southern border. NOT!

Those crossing the border illegally have proof of vaccination, right? If not, where do they quarantine after crossing?

Conservative politicians and voters know a lost cause when they see one. The voters said “no thank you” to them too many times. Don’t blame Republicans for giving up. If any Illinois resident wants change they should stop whining or blaming others and find a better state (and that includes Wirepoint readers).

What about public health and the Covid19 pandemic? It’s been estimated tha+20% of the illegal border crossers are infected. Doesn’t Pritzker claim to care about public health? Why then is Pritzker helping to spread the virus in Illinois?

Never saw it as whining and blaming. Having a voice and standing up for my rights is more like it. Giving up is not something that’s typically feasible for me. Its probably why I dig Wirepoints. Very few quitters here.

The illegal aliens coming in through the southern border aren’t just Hispanic like Mr Chuy would like everyone to think – they are coming from all over. What you are seeing in Illinois with Pritzker and Democrats is an effort to create a larger dependent class of people – most of the illegals coming have nothing to offer America, absolutely nothing other than an open hand. In a Democracy, people would at least require Pritzker to address where does all the money come from for this dependent class of illiterate, unvaccinated, and unskilled illegals? Pritzkers actions, as are Biden’s, are… Read more »

Pritzker isn’t satisfied with screwing Illinois. He has his heart set on screwing the entire country. Hopefully the border crisis will cost the Dems the US House next year.
