Illinois farm groups push for estate tax reform as succession challenges grow – KWQC (Davenport, IA)

Illinois lawmakers approved a nearly $56 billion state budget last week, but one measure backed by farm groups was left out. Supporters of the Family Farm Preservation Act said it would help keep family farms in family hands by reforming estate tax policies.

The goal is to destroy farming in Illinois. Democrats hate family farming as much as they hate single family housing zoning.

Democrats don’t care about farmers or rural communities. They only care about cities, criminals, and illegals.

Family farms need to be preserved and having to sell the farm to pay estate taxes is criminal. These families actually have ties to the state, unlike all of the other enterprises that constantly get favorable tax treatment or taxpayer subsidies.

Illinois at a minimum should match the federal exemption of $13 million – it is at a ridiculous low of $4 million in Illinois. There are homes in the suburbs that sell for more than that. Why is this so difficult for the overtaxing dems to understand and grant the same exemption as the federal limit to farmers?
