My wife and I estimate that with gas, food and inflation we’re spending about $1000 extra a month.

Not all retirements are down. Social Security is up. Pension still paying out strong with a 3% increase every year. Tough with inflation but still up overall.

Yep times are great for those with a Government pension. Those that aren’t should have voted more responsively in the past.

When are they going to do that Aaron? 15 years? 20? People have been talking about this for the last 15-20 years and nothing.

In 20 years that 120k pension will be paying out 217k per year. Maybe by then you’ll get a Detroit style 5.5% cut and that 217k pension will be reduced to 205k.

Also, don’t forget that the judge you’re counting on to cut pensions also gets a pension. More taxes in the future before one dime is cut from pensions. Keep dreaming Aaron.

The federal court judge is part of a different pension system. They’ll cut.

It’s not going to them. As I’ve said though, even if it’s cut that 120k pension will still be worth north of 200k even after the cuts. Keep dreaming.

PPF, you need to read up on the Weimar Republic and what happened to all those obligations which were once thought to be sacrosanct.

You should also keep your skills up to date and have a side hustle

How could something like this happen in such a labor-friendly state?

Wow, who could have known that stealing a presidential election would have caused personal income to decrease?

The real story though is the loss of purchasing power for those who had income thru Biden Inflation and we’ve still got 2 years more of it coming.
