I do not recall such a broad outpouring of thoughts from Illinois politicians when 9 people were shot at Chicago Ave and State Street in a mass shooting in our own fair city last week?
This is a TRAGEDY wrought by an individual whose motives or mental stability are yet to be determined.
Instead of a call for more mental health programs, politicians are ceasing on the 2nd amendment. That genie is already out of the bottle – the root cause needs to be addressed, more gun laws are not the answer.

The taxpayers are always last in line when it comes to serving and protecting Americans. I’m in favor of no American money being given away to every country in the world. Stop Foreign Aid!
