Illinoisans Could Push Police To Reopen Cold Cases Under New Bill – Block Club Chicago

The Homicide Victims’ Families’ Rights Act would create a formal process for family members of a homicide victim to ask for a new investigation after the case has gone unsolved for at least three years. The Homicide Data Transparency Act would require law enforcement agencies to publish monthly homicide investigation data on their websites.
